Minty Chocolate Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 cup soft butter at room temp.
02 - 1 cup white sugar.
03 - 1 egg.
04 - 1 teaspoon mint flavoring.
05 - 2–3 drops green food dye (if you want).
06 - 1 1/2 cups plain flour.
07 - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.
08 - 1/4 teaspoon baking powder.
09 - 1/8 teaspoon salt.
10 - 3/4 cup dark chocolate chips.

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and put parchment paper on your cookie sheets.
02 - Grab a big bowl and beat the soft butter and sugar together till they're fluffy and light.
03 - Throw in the egg and mix well, then pour in mint flavoring and green coloring if using. Stir until everything's the same color.
04 - In another bowl, mix your flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together.
05 - Slowly add your flour mix to the butter mix, about half a cup at a time, until you get smooth cookie dough.
06 - Stir in all those chocolate chips so they're spread out nicely in the dough.
07 - Roll the dough into 22-24 balls and put them on your cookie sheets. Keep them a couple inches apart since they'll spread.
08 - Stick them in the hot oven for 8-10 minutes until the edges look set and slightly golden.
09 - Leave cookies on the sheet for 5 minutes, then move them to a wire rack to finish cooling.

# Notes:

01 - Add some green coloring for fun parties or holiday treats - they'll really stand out on a dessert table.
02 - You can swap regular flour with your favorite gluten-free mix if you need a wheat-free option.
