In a medium pot, combine milk, salt, and sugar over medium heat. Stir constantly until the sugar blends in fully.

Turn the heat to low and let it simmer gently. Don't stir much—just scrape the bottom now and then. Cook for about 30–45 minutes.

When the liquid reduces by half and looks like maple syrup, stir in the vanilla.

If there's froth or bits, pour it through a fine mesh to get a smooth liquid. Let it cool down fully.

Put it in an airtight jar and refrigerate for up to a month. To use, warm it just a bit to make it easier to pour.
