DIY Chocolate Sauce (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 cup natural cocoa powder, unsweetened.
02 - 1 cup white sugar.
03 - 1/8 teaspoon fine kosher salt.
04 - 1/2 cup water, completely chilled.
05 - 1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract.

# Instructions:

01 - Start with a cool pan and blend the cocoa and sugar together, whisking until you've got a smooth mixture without any clumps.
02 - Sprinkle the salt into your sugar-cocoa blend, then slowly drizzle in the cold water as you keep whisking.
03 - Set your pan on medium to medium-high flame and let the mix come to a soft boil, making sure to stir often.
04 - After it starts bubbling, turn down the heat right away for a gentle simmer, and don't stop stirring or it'll stick to the bottom.
05 - Let your sauce bubble gently for just half a minute while you keep stirring, then take it off the heat straight away.
06 - Give the mixture a moment to cool down before you add and mix in the vanilla until it's fully blended throughout.
07 - Pour your fresh chocolate sauce into a clean glass container and let it sit until it reaches room temperature.
08 - You'll see the sauce change from runny to perfectly pourable as it cools down completely.

# Notes:

01 - Stays fresh for 2 weeks when refrigerated.
02 - Recipe amounts can be easily multiplied by two.
03 - Warm it up again before you pour.
