Pumpkin Butter Bars (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 cup softened butter.
02 - 1 1/4 cups plain flour.
03 - Dash of salt.
04 - 3 tablespoons white sugar.
05 - 1 1/2 cups pumpkin puree.
06 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
07 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
08 - 1/3 cup toasted and chopped walnuts.
09 - 1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces.
10 - 1/4 cup plain flour.
11 - 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg powder.
12 - 1/4 cup caramel drizzle.
13 - 1/2 cup packed brown sugar.

# Instructions:

01 - Get your oven warmed up to 325°F. Line an 8x8 pan with foil or parchment, then add a light spritz of cooking spray. Leave it aside for now.
02 - Stir together the shortbread layer ingredients in a big bowl until it's nicely mixed and moist. Press it evenly at the bottom of the prepped pan. Set it to the side.
03 - Grab another big bowl and whisk together all the pumpkin filling stuff. Mix until it looks nice and smooth.
04 - Pour the pumpkin mix on top of the shortbread layer and smooth it out evenly.
05 - Scatter the chocolate pieces and walnuts on top. Gently push them a bit into the pumpkin layer.
06 - Drizzle caramel sauce all over the whole thing.
07 - Pop it into the oven for 45-60 minutes. The pumpkin layer is done when it sets and doesn’t jiggle.
08 - Let everything cool all the way. Take it out of the pan, then slice into 16 small squares to serve.

# Notes:

01 - Tastes fantastic if you chill it before serving.
