Strawberry Danish Pastry (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 4 cups of strawberries, sliced.
02 - 1 tbsp sugar.
03 - 1 tbsp cornstarch.
04 - 8 oz soft cream cheese.
05 - 1/2 cup powdered sugar.
06 - 2 sheets puff pastry.
07 - 1 egg mixed with a splash of water.
08 - 1 tsp vanilla.
09 - For the glaze: powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
10 - Optional: 1/4 cup strawberry jam.

# Instructions:

01 - Let puff pastry sit out for 30-45 minutes to soften. Preheat oven to 400°F. Toss sliced berries with cornstarch and sugar. Let them rest for 15 minutes.
02 - Whip the cream cheese until fluffy. Stir in vanilla and powdered sugar till smooth.
03 - Slice each pastry sheet into six rectangles. Lightly score a border on each piece, but don’t cut all the way through.
04 - Spread cheese mix in the middle of each piece. Add a spoonful of strawberries on top. Brush edges with egg wash and sprinkle a bit of sugar on the edges.
05 - If the pastry feels too soft, let it chill for 15 minutes. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden.
06 - Let them cool slightly for 5 minutes. Add warmed jam or drizzle with glaze.

02 - Avoid putting too much filling.
03 - Store in the fridge for up to 2-3 days.
